UK Invests for Employees will launch as a Phase 1 with a select group of full-time employees in Spring 2026, with rollouts to additional full-time UK employees planned later in 2026.
Why is the university offering this program to employees?
UK Invests for Employees aims to empower faculty and staff to strengthen their financial well-being.
I have a question about this program. Who can I contact for help?
We are ready to support you. Please email ukinvests@uky.edu with questions.
Why do I need to affiliate my Fidelity app with the University of Kentucky?
Linking your Fidelity app to the University of Kentucky using your linkblue credentials ensures that your account is officially associated with the university. This connection allows UK to deposit funds into your account when you complete university-designated incentives. Without this affiliation, the university is unable to transfer those funds to your Fidelity account.
How do I sign up?
UK Invests for Employees is currently the first phase of implementation with a select group of full-time employees. Details on how to sign up will be rolled out to additional full-time UK employees later in 2026.
If I am also a student, can I participate in both UK Invests for Students and UK Invests for Employees?
Yes. Employees who are also students may participate and earn money in both programs.
Will participating in UK Invests for Employees affect my other benefits (retirement, health care, etc.)?
Participation in UK Invests is separate from your retirement or health care benefits. It is intended as a supplemental financial wellness benefit.
What happens to the money I’ve earned in my brokerage account if I leave the university?
Once you’ve earned the money in your brokerage account, it is yours to keep.
Can I add my own money to my brokerage account?
Yes. You may choose to add your own money to your account.
Will the money I earn be taxable? How will I pay those taxes?
Yes, any money received through UK Invests for Employees will be considered taxable income. The income will be included on your regular pay statement.
How often will the money I earn be deposited into my account?
The University of Kentucky will deposit money directly into your Fidelity Investments brokerage account every two weeks.
